A gentle breeze took us the plus minus nine nautical miles across the bay to Ten Bays which will be our home for a day or two. It is quite difficult to get to the beach with a dingy, because during low tide the sand banks run fairly deep into the ocean and you need to walk a ways through the shallow water before you reach dry land. Fortunately it is hot and we don’t mind the water at all. On the southern side of the bay is a development with private homes (or rather estates) that covers basically the entire hill.

It seemed as though there is only one road to the beach, but you get the impression that the owners are trying to keep the beach private as much as they can. We found a nice spot in the northern corner of the beach and had two delightful barbeques on the beach.

It was strange that there didn’t seem to a shop of any sort in the area, but off course everybody that visits there has a car and I suppose the nearest shop is within a few minutes by car. There are some inland salt ponds and the oad circles around to come back to the development called “Beyond the Pointe”

The surge in the bay was quite bad, so we moved on after two nights. Although we had a bit of a storm, the bay did not quiet down afterwards and maybe on the next trip, we will give this stop a miss.
