Gregory Town will be our next port of call – only 4.5miles away. We sailed close to the coast and marveled at the rock formations and the homes that are built right on the cliffs and sometimes the cliffs have already been carved out below the houses – I would be quite scared to live there:-)

The harbor was quite small so we decided to not anchor in Gregory Town, but instead go two coves further and anchored in a larger cove where we felt there was enough room to maneuver if we needed to. A short dinghy ride brought us into town and about half a mile up the street we found a grocery store, a bar and restaurant and a cute little gift store on the way. There’s a newly built play area for kids, but no one around while we were there.

We walked up the hill but only found houses and barking dogs. At the top of the hill Andre got stung by fire ants and we decided to go back for in case he would need some anti-histamine tablets. Fortunately it was not needed, so I quickly stopped at the dock to check out the catch of the day.

At first I thought that the one fish fillet that lay on the table was a way to attract flies and thus keep it away from the fish that’s for sale. Clever, I thought, but to my dismay, a customer arrived and bought a piece of that exact same fish that was so covered with flies that you couldn’t even see the fish underneath. I’ve never seen so many flies in one spot and immediately decided that Gregory Town was not the place to be shopping for “fresh” fish.
We had a lovely sunset, a peaceful night and were ready the next morning to move on. We were picking up my daughter, Janelle from the airport the next day, and we’d rather be there the day before and not have to rush at the last minute.
